A connection with potential
In April 2026 the route of the proposed Palma–Llucmajor railway was definitively approved. The plan links Palma, the airport, Son Llàtzer and Llucmajor. The government cites intended journeys of twelve minutes from Palma to the airport and thirty minutes to Llucmajor. Approving a route is a planning milestone; the train is not running yet.
Location is more than distance
For buyers and tenants, the idea is compelling: a different commute can change where it makes sense to live. Yet a property should be judged against current connections. Travel the route at the hours you would actually commute. Check walking distances, buses, parking and the final stretch to the front door. If a future railway forms part of your decision, allow for uncertainty over timing.
Experience the whole place
Llucmajor is more than the possible end of a line. Daily life differs from Palma or the coast. Routes to schools and shops, neighbourhoods and open space should suit your routine. Future infrastructure can be a benefit. It cannot replace viewing the home or testing life in the area as it works today.
